THE IES APPROACH

The right school.
The right fit.
Your own path.

Choosing a school is about more than where you’re admitted. It’s about finding an environment where you can grow.

At Inclusive Educational Services, we help students and families navigate the many decisions that come with studying abroad. We take the time to understand each student’s individual needs and goals, then guide them through the admission process with care and clarity.

From exploring schools in the US and Europe to preparing an application and adjusting to life in the US, our support continues beyond an acceptance letter.

Talk with Anja about your goals
01School & major selectionFind the academic direction and environment that fit you.

We start with your academic interests, strengths, and the subjects you want to explore. Together, we connect those interests to possible majors and compare how different schools teach and support them. Students who are still deciding can explore options without feeling pressured to settle on a single path too soon.

  • Compare related majors, curricula, research opportunities, and possible career directions.
  • Consider campus setting, location, size, and the learning environment you prefer.
  • Explore US and European options, including English-taught programs where relevant.
02A thoughtful, balanced college listBuild a list with a reason behind every choice.

A useful college list reflects both ambition and fit. We consider your academic record, testing profile, intended field, and personal priorities, then research schools that offer different admission possibilities. We help you understand why each school belongs on your list and refine it as your interests and application plans develop.

  • Research reach, target, and likely options in the context of your individual profile.
  • Compare programs and campuses, including differences within the same university system.
  • Identify alternatives with the qualities you value in your favorite schools.
03College essay assistance & reviewsYour experiences. Your perspective. Your voice.

We help you find the story within your experiences and explain why it matters. Feedback begins with the larger questions: what the reader learns about you, how the essay is organized, and where reflection needs more depth. We then move to sentence-level edits. Your ideas and voice remain at the center of the process.

  • Explore themes and choose specific moments that reveal your character, interests, or growth.
  • Strengthen openings, paragraph structure, transitions, and the connection between experience and reflection.
  • Identify repetition and suggested cuts to meet word limits, then polish grammar and punctuation.
04Supplemental essays & short answersGive each prompt a purposeful response.

Personal statements and school-specific essays do different jobs. We help you interpret each prompt, select a relevant example, and make the most of limited space. For essays about a major or university, we focus on connecting your experiences and interests to specific academic opportunities rather than relying on broad praise.

  • Develop responses about academic interests, community, identity, leadership, and contribution.
  • Review University of California Personal Insight Questions and other short-answer formats.
  • Look across your essays for unnecessary overlap and opportunities to show another side of you.
05Essay writing workshopsTurn a starting idea into a clear plan for a draft.

Workshops break essay writing into manageable steps: understanding the prompt, finding a meaningful experience, shaping a narrative, and revising with purpose. Students practice looking beyond a list of accomplishments to explain what an experience reveals about how they think and what they value.

  • Use guided brainstorming and reflection to identify possible essay topics.
  • Practice outlining, choosing concrete details, and balancing storytelling with reflection.
  • Learn how to use feedback, recognize repetition, and revise while keeping an authentic voice.
06Activities, honors & additional informationMake the significance of your work clear.

We help students describe their commitments with accuracy and purpose. Whether an activity involves research, music, service, employment, or an independent project, we focus on the student’s actual role and contribution. We also help determine when additional information adds useful context to the application.

  • Prioritize activities and clarify positions, responsibilities, initiative, and impact.
  • Refine descriptions to fit character limits without losing the most meaningful details.
  • Explain relevant changes in participation or academic circumstances concisely and factually.
07Application planning & ongoing guidanceKnow what comes next and what needs your attention now.

We turn a collection of application requirements into a workable plan. Students receive guidance on sequencing essays and application tasks, preparing for meetings, and keeping track of next steps. As plans change, we help reassess priorities so that important requirements and deadlines remain visible.

  • Map early and regular application plans, scholarship tasks, and school-specific requirements.
  • Work through Common App sections and identify transcript or self-reporting requirements to check.
  • Review progress and prepare for admission decisions, deferrals, waitlists, and follow-up.
